Obituary of Beatrice Nucera

Beatrice Emily Liptak Nucera, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2012 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Beatrice was born on September 16, 1929 in Bridgeport and resided in Trumbull for most of her life. Beatrice Emily Liptak was the daughter of the late Stephen and Amelia Liptak of Bridgeport. Beatrice is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Joseph Philip Nucera, older brother, Monsignor David Q. Liptak and younger sister, Sister Dolores Liptak, RSM. She is also survived by six children that she cherished, Faith Sprow, Beatrice Anne Nucera, Joseph David Nucera, Katherine Mary Nucera, Elizabeth Anne Cennamo and David Philip Nucera, as well as five beautiful grandchildren, Caitlyn, Christopher and Jack Cennamo, Elizabeth and Caroline Sprow. Beatrice was highly regarded by many special longtime friends. Beatrice attended Southern Connecticut State University as an undergraduate and Fairfield University earning a Masters Degree. She was also an exchange student in Ottawa, Canada for six weeks. She was active in the Bridgeport community as the Vice President of the Greater Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association, and taught for the Bridgeport Board of Education throughout the city for 25 years. Bea touched the lives of so many families and enjoyed every moment. She was a scholar and a kind, immensely compassionate and caring woman that thrived on helping those in need. Bea was an avid bird watcher, seamstress, chef, baker, upholsterer, and artist. In a word Beatrice Liptak Nucera was perfect. The family extends special heartfelt thanks to all that cared deeply for Beatrice at Ludlowe Rehabilitation Center in Fairfield and most recently at St Vincents Medical Center and the staff of CT Hospice. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
