Obituary of Virginia D. Morcone

May 10, 2013 Virginia Polena Morcone, of Fairfield, beloved wife of Joseph Morcone, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 10, 2013 in St. Vincents Medical Center. Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Themistokli and Pandora Buzi Polena. Virginia worked for many years alongside her husband Joe at Morcones Pharmacy. She was a member of St. George Orthodox Church where she was active in the choir and a past member of the Teuta Ladies Society. Virginia also was a 25 year volunteer at St. Vincents Medical Center and was an avid reader. Those who knew and loved her will remember her sharp wit and her life of the party sense of humor. She was the spirited family leader who especially loved having her son and daughter so close to home, and lived to spend time with her two grandchildren. Cherishing her memory are her husband of 54 years, a son, Christopher Morcone of Fairfield, a daughter, Victoria Cryder and her husband Jeffrey of Newtown, two grandchildren, Jackson and Juliette Cryder, a sister, Marion Millie Patria and her husband Joseph of Stratford, a sister-in-law Eleanor Polena of Fairfield as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother George Polena. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly at St. Georges Orthodox Church, 5490 Main St., Trumbull on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Rd., Fairfield. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
