Obituary of Richard W. Mlynek

Richard W. Mlynek, age 63, of Bridgeport, a retired manager for Lafayette Bank, died after a long and courageous battle on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Port Chester, NY, he was a son of the late Frank and Anna Sroka Mlynek, and was a former resident of Fairfield for 27 years before moving to Bridgeport. Mr. Mlynek was a past Lector at St. Pius X Church, and had been active in Boy Scouting and enjoyed bowling, tennis and participating in his childrens and grandchildrens activities and accomplishments.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 40 years, Marilyn Ferrara Mlynek, a daughter, Laurin A. Brenner and her husband John of Fairfield, two sons, Richard A. Mlynek and his wife, Alisa and her children, Cori and Brandon, all of Columbia, MD and Timothy A. Mlynek and his wife, Rebecca of Catonsville, MD, a brother, Carl S. Mlynek and his wife Ellen of Robbinsdale, MN, two cherished granddaughters, Amanda and Kailee Brenner, and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
