Obituary of Angeline Bevacqua

Angeline Mary (Clomiro) Bevacqua, of Bridgeport, the beloved wife of Joseph Bevacqua died peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2009 surrounded by her family at St. Vincents Medical Center. Angeline was born on September 28, 1921 to the late Vincenzo and Maria Quaranta Clomiro. She worked for several years at Remington Arms as a munitions inspector and then at General Electric in Bridgeport. After raising her two children, Michael and Theresa, she then worked as a waitress at 3030 Park Avenue where she retired after 20 years of service. Her pleasures were cooking for her family, enjoying her grandchildren, and gardening, playing bingo and watching her soap operas.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 62 years, Joseph, her son, Michael Bevacqua and his wife Alberina, of Stratford, and her daughter, Theresa Sutherland and her husband Douglas of Trumbull. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Steven Bevacqua, Lisa Bevacqua and Kevin Sutherland. Other survivors include her sister, Antoinette DeCesare and her husband Edward of Trumbull and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Philip Clomiro and Gaetano Clomiro and her sisters, Helen Sokolowski and Frances Cavaliere.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial.  Friends may call on Monday from 4- 8 p.m.
