Obituary of Carmen Garcia Badiola

Resident of Stratford Carmen Garcia Badiola, age 79, of Stratford, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2008. Born in Murcia, Spain on January 5, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Garcia Cano and Candelaria Garcia Alcaraz. She was educated in Spain and graduated from the Fashion Institute of New York City. She was a retired designer for Bali Inc., a division of Sara Lee Corporation with 29 years of service. She was also formerly employed by Vanity Fair, Hollywood Vasarette and Lily of France. Survivors include three sisters, Santa Garcia Alcaraz and Resurecion Garcia Alcaraz, both of Spain, Beatrice Garcia Grabell of Shelton, a niece, Elena Costa Mayorga of Bridgeport, two great nephews, Josue and Christian Mayorga of Bridgeport as well as several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews in Spain. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Lola Garcia Alcaraz and a brother, Manuel Garcia Alcaraz. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m.
