Obituary of Joseph John Milewski
U. S. Army Veteran
Joseph John Milewski, beloved husband of Elaine Iacozza Antonini Milewski, of Hawley, PA and formerly of Bridgeport and Southbury, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born in Bridgeport, on May 28, 1929 to the late Vincenti and Teofila Gelozin Milewski, Joe graduated from Harding High School, Fairfield University and the University of Connecticut, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1992, spending his retirement in Hawley, PA.
In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by two sisters, Marion Morris of Southbury and Regina Falkowski of Stratford; several nieces and nephews, Virginia (Ron) Cartwright, Vincent (Elizabeth) Morris, Gloria Falkowski, Barbara (Michael) Fusco, Nancy Milewski and Bonnie Signore; five stepdaughters: Sheree (Thomas) Cherry and Donna (Richard) Donenfeld, both of Connecticut, Teresa Brim of California, Susan (Steven) Cote of Kentucky, and Laura (Robert) Taurchini of Colorado; and eight step grandchildren. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 310 Pulaski St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may call on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
