Obituary of Gloria R. Milano

Resident of Bridgeport Gloria Rose Milano, age 80, of Bridgeport, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield. Born in Bridgeport on August 24, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Dattolo Milano. She was predeceased by her sister Carmella Martire and brothers Angelo and Joseph Milano. Survivors include her sister, Olga Makar of Milford and her brother, Anthony Milano and his wife Helen of Trumbull, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, godchildren and special friends. Gloria was a member of Central High Schools Class of 1949 and a member of the Bridgeport Municipal Retirees Association, Bacio and a former member of the Bridgeport Federation of Democratic Women. She was a parishioner of St. Andrews Church in Bridgeport and participated in many activities at the church. She held various retail sales positions in Bridgeport and was most recently employed as its Democratic Registrar of Voters, prior to her retirement in 1992. Glorias family wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to the compassionate doctors and wonderful friends who supported her during her battle with cancer. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport, on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. At Glorias request, there will be no calling hours.
