Obituary of Robert S. Kollar

Bridgeport Resident Robert S. Kollar, age 76, of Bridgeport passed away on January 11, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Migdalia Micky Martinez. Born in Bridgeport, on April 29, 1936, he was the son of the late Stephen and Margaret Mason Kollar. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was a Firefighter for the City of Bridgeport when he retired in 1994 after 23 years of dedicated service. In addition to his beloved wife of 49 years, Micky, his loving family include his children, Keith Kollar and his wife Mina Shams of San Diego, CA, Kipp Kollar and his wife Mary of Marlborough, CT, and Kimberly Wood and her husband Jeffrey of Trumbull, CT, six cherished grandchildren, Laela, Sarah and Arianna Kollar, Amber and Dylan Kollar and Dalia Mae Wood, sister and brother-in-law, Thomas and Olga Vitale, Ed and Julie Gazda, and several nieces and nephews, Jack and Joanna Goncalves, Thomas and Christopher Vitale, Jennifer and Greg Larson and Joshua, Ashley, Jakie, Ethan and Jason. Special cousins include, Susie and Lloyd Walsh, Joyce and David Souza, Sonny and Kathy Mason, David Moody, Katie Griswold, Debbie Walsh, Stephie Boulter and Chrissy and John Grabowski. He is also survived by lifelong friends who he called family, Jim and Lynn Veary, Beverly Curley, Tootsie Miller, Don and Liz Frillici, Stuart and Kathy Pivovar, John and Dee Pivovar and Roy and Sandy Johnson as well as their Thousand Island friends. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
