Obituary of William E. Kohlbacker

William E. Kohlbacker, age 94, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Lillian (Hubina) Kohlbacker. Born in Bridgeport on November 23, 1929, he was the son of the late Engelbert and Meina (Maier) Kohlbacker.  A proud U.S. Army veteran having served honorably during the Korean War, Mr. Kohlbacker was later employed by LA Barnaby Roofing and Siding as a Superintendent for many years. He was also a longtime member of the VFW, where he established many lasting friendships over the years. William’s faith was very important to him and evident as a longtime and active member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, William K. Kohlbacker and his wife Robin of AZ, Alan R. Kohlbacker of Trumbull, Jeffrey M. Kohlbacker and his wife Donna of SC and Kim A. Nikola and her husband Paul of Naugatuck, his grandchildren, Kristine A. Davis and Jennifer M. Kellum and her husband Joseph, as well as his great grandchildren, Austin Davis and Jenna Kellum.    

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Inurnment will follow in the Church Columbarium. Prior to the service, friends may greet the family from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
