Obituary of Rose Cubelli Kerr

Resident of Trumbull After giving a nice smile to her son, Rose Cubelli Kerr, age 89, passed away at her home in Trumbull on Thursday, August 2, 2012. Born Rosina Lucia Cubelli at home in the North End of Bridgeport, Rose was a twin, sensitive and one of nine children of the late Michael and Francesca Tornillo Cubelli. She attended Shelton School, Congress Junior High School and graduated from Central High School in 1941. Excelling in art, Rose went to work at Reads Department Store. There she worked in the Photo Department drawing and painting in the early Technicolor photographs. Later during World War II, she worked at Chance Voight. In 1947, she married Leonard Kerr. She became a great stay at home Mom for her two sons, always keeping the home clean (which was not easy) and cooking good, well balanced meals. Good hearted Rose was well known for baking her brownies to give to her neighbors, who were great friends in the Trumbull neighborhood of Maples Heights, often socializing together. She loved to go shopping with them, her sister Lil and her sister-in-law Evelyn. In recent years, Roses health declined. Her husband, Leonard recently passed away on July 19, and was also pre-deceased by her son Robert. Survivors include her son, Leonard, twin brother, Mario Cubelli and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.
