Obituary of William J. Kennedy

Stratford Resident William J. Kennedy Jr., age 86, beloved husband of Eileen Hanley Kennedy died on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Milford Hospital. A son of the late William J. Kennedy Sr. and Marguerite Robinson Kennedy, he was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 28, 1926. Mr. Kennedy was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II serving aboard the USS Mayo and a graduate of Fordham University School of Business. Before his retirement he was an accountant and CFO at various electronic companies. After retirement he taught at the Butler Business School in addition to being the controller at Gails Stride Rite Shoes. He was most proud of being a member of the Tin Can Sailors of the USS Mayo. In addition to his wife Eileen of 62 years, survivors include a son, William J. Kennedy and his wife Gail of Monroe and two cherished grandsons, William B. Kennedy of Milford and Sean A. Kennedy of Monroe. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Marks Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
