Obituary of Katherina Jelacic

Longtime Huntington Resident Katherina Bobinac Jelacic, age 91, a longtime resident of Huntington and beloved wife of the late Stephen Jelacic, died on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Sinac Lika, Croatia on January 18, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Mile and Katica Simatovic Bobinac and immigrated to the United States in 1958. Mrs. Jelacic was a devout Christian who loved her church and her God and a prayer warrior for all. She enjoyed gardening and was well known for her famous cookies, especially at Christmas time. Survivors include her four loving children, Mary Miller and her husband Gary of Stratford, Peter Jelacic and his wife Ghislaine of Croatia, Gloria Milas and her husband Gary of Sandy Hook and Walter Jelacic and his wife Barbara of Shelton, ten grandchildren, Daniel Miller and his wife Joanna, Katrina Cronin and her husband Scott, Benjamin Miller and his wife Jill, Michael and Stephanie Jelacic, Sarah and Joshua Milas, Stephen, Christopher and Jacob Jelacic and three great grandchildren, Emma and James Miller and Ella Cronin. She was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in New Life Church, 28 Hedgehog Rd., Trumbull on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. for a funeral service. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
