Obituary of Anthony R. Innacell

Anthony R. Innacell, Sr., age 89, of Bridgeport, loving husband of Elizabeth Kraley Innacell, died on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.Born in Bridgeport on January 26, 1922, he was a son of the late Louis J. and Anna Adelizzi Innacell. A graduate of Central High School Class of 1941, Anthony went on to serve his country from 1942- 1945 in the U.S. Army during WW II. In 1947 he was employed by Adley Express until 1952 when he went to work at Avco Lycoming until his retirement in 1983. From 1986 until 2005 he was employed by the City of Bridgeport serving as Sealer of Weights & Measures. He was a 4th degree lifetime member of the St. Frances X Cabrini Knights of Columbus Council 4096 and Assembly 136 as well as a lifetime member of VFW Post 145, Teamsters Local 191 Retirees and the Elks BPO Lodge 36. Tony also belonged to the St. Raphaels Golden Buccaneers and served as Quartermaster from 1957-1962. A lifelong Bridgeport resident, Anthony had many political involvements; he was a Bridgeport City Alderman in the 134th district from 1977-1983, a member of the Bridgeport Democratic Committee; was a Connecticut State Representative for three consecutive terms during the years of 1979-1984 under Governors Ella Grasso and William ONeill.

In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, Elizabeth, survivors include, four children, Anthony R. Innacell Jr., of Phoenix AZ, Patricia Innacell-Fignar of Easton, Louis Innacell and his wife Lori of Bridgeport and Dianna Innacell-DAngelico and her husband John of West Haven, 10 grandchildren, April Innacell Silverman, Caitlynn and Dylan Innacell, Brittany and Gabrielle Fignar, James and Robert Innacell and Johnny, Anthony and Dominick DAngelico, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ralph J. Innacell and a sister, Margaret Roberts. 

Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.
