Obituary of Caroline Shearer

Caroline Vizzo Shearer, age 87, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Charles Shearer, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at St. Vincent Medical Center with family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on April 21, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Rosa Vallello Vizzo. After retiring from the food industry, she loved making her famous dishes and passing them out to all whom she loved, her neighbors, and to the many other people who touched her life. Survivors include a brother Edward Vizzo and his wife Betty of Bridgeport, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Vincent, Anthony, Patsy, and Andrew Vizzo, and sisters, Elvira Criscione, Evelyn Borodack, Angelina Hoey, Rosemarie Zaremba, Dimond Bydairk, Julia Oakleaf and Catherine Pato. Caroline was appreciative to all who had helped her throughout her life. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and shopping at her favorite Italian food store. She always loved and enjoyed time she spent with her family at their homes. For every family gathering, you were sure to see her most asked for tray of delicious eggplant parmigiana. When you opened her big freezer, you saw the love she had to give in all those trays she made ahead of time just to take along with her anywhere she went; she even gave them to her doctors. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
