Obituary of Edward F. Sheehan

Edward F. Sheehan, age 92, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Marion A. Wallace Sheehan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at his home. Born in Bridgeport on March 11, 1924, he was the son of the late Edward and Mae Condon Sheehan. A U.S. Navy Veteran who served in World War II, Ed was a retired police officer for the City of Bridgeport. His greatest enjoyment and pleasure was found in the time that he spent with his grandchildren playing his fife and singing Irish and Patriotic songs. He shared many stories of World War II when his LST ship was torpedoed in the English Channel as part of Operation Tiger. He had a strong love for his Catholic Faith which was evident is his daily prayer life. He was a longtime member of the Spirit of Blackrock Fife and Drum Corps which he proudly played his fife while marching in many parades. Survivors include his loving son, Edward Sheehan and his wife Elizabeth of Dalton, MA and their children Anna, Matthew and Daniel, a daughter-in-law Diane Sheehan of Trumbull and her children, Sydney and Jacquelyn, a sister MaryLou Sheehan of Trumbull and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Timothy and Kevin Sheehan and a brother Robert Sheehan and his wife Marge Sheehan and brother-in-law Joseph Wallace and his wife Audrey Wallace. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, CT 06611.
