Obituary of Karl S. Fritz

Karl S. Fritz, age 90, of Stamford and Fairfield, loving husband of the late M. Irene Dahlgren Fritz, beloved father of Kristine Scerbo and Karen Fritz, passed away on March 6, 2016 at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield. He was born in Stamford on April 30, 1925 and was the son of the late Einar and Anna Johnson Fritz. Karl served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946, serving in the Solomon Islands aboard the USS Henderson AP#1, also Landing Craft Repair Unit #1 and the J. Fred Talbot DD156. He and his wife were charter members of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Stamford, serving as a Deacon and Elder. He was a member of VASA for over 60 years, the American Legion and the US Navy Memorial in Washington DC. Karl was employed by Marcoloy Inc as a tool & die maker and metallurgist. He loved gardening, fixing things and stamp collecting. Karl loved people and Jesus Christ and was loved in return. In addition to his daughters Kristine and Karen, Karl left behind his son-in-law, Dominic Scerbo of Trumbull, three grandchildren, Jonathan Scerbo and his wife Jessica, Linnea McHenry and her husband Brent and Jordan Scerbo, and two great grandchildren, Alice and Adalyn Scerbo. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will take place privately in the Fairfield Memorial Park, Stamford.
