Obituary of Clara Azzarone

Loving and Devoted Mother and Grandmother Clara Azzarone, age 86, of Trumbull, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at St. Vincents Medical Center. Born in Cosenza, Province of Calabria, Italy on October 30, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Luigina Reda. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Antonio Azzarone, whom she met and married in Argentina. Along with her husband, they came to the United States in the 1950s settling in Queens, New York. Upon the onset of Alzheimers, she moved into St. Josephs Manor in Trumbull where for her last 3 years she received the most loving and dignified of care. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Survivors include her loving, devoted daughter Mary Lou MacEwen and her son-in-law Richard MacEwen of Wells, ME, two cherished granddaughters, Antonia Valentina and Francesca Lucia MacEwen, as well as her sisters, nieces and nephews in Italy and extended family in Argentina. At this time, Mary Lou and Richard would like to extend their deepest thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Josephs Manor. Claras final 3 years of life were spent in the most caring and loving atmosphere that her illness prevented her from receiving at home. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Theresas Roman Catholic Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Astoria, Queens, NY where Clara will be laid to rest with her beloved Tony for all eternity. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
