Obituary of Sue Deitz Halapin

Dedicated Wife, Mother and Grandmother Sue Deitz Halapin, age 60, of Shelton, beloved wife of Richard D. Halapin, died peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Griffin Hospital, after a 6 year courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on April 15, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Lillian Dugas Deitz. Sue was a retired jewelry manager for Walmart in Shelton. An avid Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and NASCAR fan, she enjoyed her many shopping days with her daughters, trips to the casino with her husband and family vacations. Sue was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who cared deeply for the love and care of her family. Her strong love and family values will continue to live on in her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In addition to her devoted husband of 40 years, Richard, survivors include her loving children, Melissa Saad and her husband Keith of Naugatuck, Heidi Salvati and her husband Michael of Naugatuck and Richard Halapin Jr., nine cherished grandchildren, Cody, Tyler and Olivia Saad, Emily, Danielle and Felicia Salvati, Richard and Kevin Bourque and Destiny Halapin; brothers-in-law, Bernie and his fiance Donna and Raymond Halapin, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jeff Orell, Sue, Sharon, Dr. Joe Cardinale and Dr. David Haas for all of their dedication, professionalism and care they gave to Sue in her time of need. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
