Obituary of Virginia DeVellis

Bridgeport Resident DEVELLIS- Virginia Mollica DeVellis, age 94 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Rocco DeVellis, died on Saturday, July 28, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born in Ripi, Province of Frosinone, Italy on April 18, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Dominico and Adelina Sementilli Mollica. Mrs. DeVellis was a member of St. Raphaels Italian Society. She enjoyed gardening, loved her flowers, and was known for knitting and always fixing clothes. A great cook, she had a staple cake that was made for every family gathering and no one could leave her house without taking a piece of sponge cake. Survivors include her loving children, Attilio DeVellis and his wife Margaret of Milford, Anita Marisa Liburdi and her husband Antonio of Milford and Lena Viselli and her husband Benny of Fairfield. She always held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren; Dina Liburdi, Maurizio Viselli and his wife and Donna, Antoinette Faustini and her husband Benny, Robert DeVellis and his wife Melissa, Melissa Viselli, Robert and Dominic Faustini, and Adeline Allen; cherished great grandchildren, Maurizio Viselli Jr., Brianna Faustini, Liana Viselli, Livio Faustini, Jenna DeVellis, Benjamin Viselli, Joseph and Nicholas DeVellis, In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Maria Antoinette DeVellis. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Vitas Hospice Care for their help and support during this difficult time. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret Shrine, Bridgeport, on Tuesday,July 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday, July 30th from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road , Trumbull.
