Obituary of Mario L. DelVecchio

Mario (Larry) DelVecchio, Del, age 52, of Bridgeport, formerly of Easton and Trumbull, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, December 17, 2012. Born in Bridgeport on February 4, 1960, he was a son of the late Mario Murph L. and Carol Lathrop DelVecchio. He was a graduate of Trumbull High School, and played basketball and football. After high school, Larry joined his father in the family business, DelMar Builders, Inc. They prided themselves on building quality homes and condominiums in Trumbull, Easton, Monroe and Bridgeport. Above all they were proud of building adjacent homes for himself and his sisters families in Trumbull. The DelVecchio Compound was the site of numerous picnics, smoked barbeques, fireworks, fun on the go-cart and in the pool. His family and friends enjoyed his spontaneous quick wit. Larry was a passionate musician, playing the guitar and harmonica; he especially liked blues music, the music of Elvis Presley, and even emulated the singing of his idols. He was also an auto enthusiast. Larry had a sensitive, warm spirit and loved his family. He was also a good friend and would go above and beyond to help those in need. Larry was especially proud of his surviving children, a son, Mario L. DelVecchio III of Trumbull, two daughters, Jillian DelVecchio of Burlington, VT and Jessie DelVecchio of Trumbull. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Karen Morgero DelVecchio, two sisters, Jill C. Puzzio and her husband John of Trumbull and Susan Gail Paoletti DelVecchio of Easton, an uncle, Robert Lathrop and aunt, Lucille Pereira, nieces and nephews, Dana Paoletti, Frederick Paoletti III, Justin Puzzio and Taylor Puzzio as well as many cousins.
