Obituary of Almarie L. Convertito

Devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Almarie L. Dalvano Convertito, age 90, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Alexander Convertito, died peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on March 6, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Maryanne Freddino Dalvano. In addition to being a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker Almarie also had a working career as a seamstress for Roses Dress Shop. Almarie was a member of the Connecticut Peace Makers Quilting Guild and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary of Trumbull. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting and jewelry making. She dedicated hundreds of hours to create handmade quilts, knitted blankets and clothing for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Almarie also volunteered her time to knit hospital gowns and hats for children stricken with illness but her greatest joy was being with her family. Her dedication to, and unconditional love for her family was her hallmark that will leave a lasting legacy of cherished memories for her children and grandchildren for years to come. Almarie will also be remembered for her peaceful and loving nature and will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. In addition to her husband, she is pre-deceased by a brother, John Dalvano and three sisters, Millie Dargenio, Lena Carrano and Nina Graden. Survivors include four children, Almarie Ianuly and her husband Paul of MD, Kenneth Convertito and his wife Debra, David Convertito and his wife Roberta, all of Monroe and Mark Convertito of Stratford, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Grace Blackwell of CA and Rose Dalvano of Trumbull as well as several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions through the funeral home to be made to her grandson Alex J. Convertito for medical and physical rehabilitation therapy expenses resulting from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
