Obituary of Elizabeth J. Cervone

Resident of Monroe Elizabeth Bessie Jean Massaria Cervone passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 after a long illness. Mrs. Cervone was born on August 31, 1922 in Bridgeport, CT to Michael and Josephine Massaria. She was pre-deceased by her two brothers Vito and Paul. Mrs. Cervone graduated from St. Marys School in Bridgeport, CT. Elizabeth was married to Louis Cervone Sr. for 63 years before his death in 2003. Together they had six children, Josephine Doyle of Summerville, SC, Louis Cervone, Jr. (wife Joyce) of Shelton CT, Michael Cervone (wife Doreen) of Bakersfield, CA, Rosalie Phillips (husband Joseph) of Fairmont, WV, Elizabeth Verruso of Manchester Center, VT, and Leonard Cervone who pre-deceased her in 2007. Elizabeth had 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Cervone was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at St Judes Church in Monroe. She was a lifelong member of the Association of the Miraculous Medal. She had worked at the Acme Shear Co. making scissors, but her greatest joys were found taking care of her family. She had a love of baking which was passed down from her father who was a commercial baker in Italy. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 1-4 p.m.
