Obituary of Virginia Amoroso

Trumbull Resident Virginia Amoroso, age 81, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Domenic Amoroso Jr., died peacefully at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford on Friday, August 12, 2011 with her loving family by her side. She was born Virginia Alice Huntley to Ralph M. Huntley and Evelyn (Seeley) Huntley in Bridgeport. Virginia was retired from Aetna Insurance Company, where she worked as a transcribing secretary for 20 years. She had been a member of the Connecticut Peacemakers Quilting Guild and the Trumbull Gardening Club for many years. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing clothes for family, poetry writing, gardening and visiting her grandchildren. Her dedication to, and unconditional love for her family was her greatest joy. She will be remembered for her loving and peaceful nature and will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Gladys Sciortino, Albert Huntley, Ralph Huntley and Frank Huntley. In addition to Domenic, her husband of 61 years, survivors include a sister, Grace Konen of Stratford, three daughters, Joyce Chalfin and her husband Richard of Roslindale, MA, Beverly Naomi Persky and her husband John Gedalya of Israel and Michelle Amoroso of Newtown, CT, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren, Robin Chalfin of Jamaica Plains and her daughters, Ella and Aria, Jacob Chalfin of Unionville, PA, Julia Chalfin of Munich, Germany, Benjamin (Persky) Young and his wife Jordana and their sons, Gabriel and Zachary of Israel, Nathaniel Persky of Weehauken, NJ, Joshua Persky and his wife, Abigail of Israel and Samuel, Noah and Abraham Persky of Israel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
