Obituary of Angelina Baldino

Angelina (Angela) Cesare Baldino, long time Bridgeport resident, currently of Trumbull, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at St. Vincent Medical Center with her daughter Bernadette and devoted friend Michele holding her hands. She was born on May 14, 1917 to the late Domenic Cesare and Concetta Gimignano Cesare Gaetano. During her long life she worked at local dress shops, was employed by Lerners Department Store and Tops Department Store. In 1988, she retired from the Bridgeport Board of Education Nutrition Center, after 22 years of service, which included managing the cafeterias at the former East Side Middle School and Central High School. During her retirement, Angie volunteered her time in the office of St. Patrick Church, Bridgeport, where she was a member of The Legion of Mary, and preparing mailings for the Downtown Cabaret and the Connecticut Zoological Society, as well as The Easton Public Library. Angie was the beloved wife of the late Michael A. Baldino and is survived by her son, Anthony M. Baldino and his wife Joan, of Leesburg, Florida, her daughter and care giver Bernadette Baldino of Trumbull, with whom she resided, her beloved grandson Anthony M. Baldino, Jr., his wife Pamela and her great granddaughters, Nicole and Jessica Baldino of Elkton, Maryland, her great grandson James V. Baldino, Jr. of Wolcott. She is also survived by her other family, John, Michele and Jay Sullivan of Fairfield who loving called her Grandma Dino. She is also survived by two nieces and three nephews. Mrs. Baldino was predeceased by her sister Effie Baldino, her grandson James V. Baldino, her granddaughter Doreen E. Baldino, and her great-grandson Anthony M. Baldino. Angies family wishes to thank care-giver Jan Ross, the nurses and staff of 7 South at St. Vincents Medical Center, Kim and Denise of VNS of CT and Ella & Randi of Family & Childrens Agency for the excellent care they provided her during the last days of her life. An intelligent, compassionate, and caring woman, Angie treated everyone she met with respect and kindness. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Funeral Information Family and friends may call on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 2-6 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., meeting directly in St. Patrick Church, 851 North Avenue, Bridgeport.
