Obituary of Anthony A. Carbone

Bridgeport Resident Anthony A. Carbone, Jr. (Tony), age 78, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Anna Mae Mayernik Carbone died on Friday, October 21, 2011 in St. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Stratford on February 27, 1933, he was the son of the late Anthony and Florence Poppa Carbone, Sr. Before his retirement, Tony was employed at General Electric, International Harvester, Metropolitan Body Co. (METRO), and Remington Arms. He was a member of the Local UAW and served for many years as Union Steward and committeeman. Over the years he loved to attend many Italian festivals with his loving wife Ann, they were always together and inseparable. Tony enjoyed music concerts, casino trips, car shows, clamming and was an avid fisherman. He was a handyman who could fix anything and loved challenging projects. In addition to his wife Anna Mae of over 58 years, he is survived by three sons; Anthony S. Carbone and his wife Lisa of Southport, Michael T. Carbone and his wife Beverly of Huntington, Thomas J. Carbone of Stratford, a daughter; Nancy M. Kubik and her husband Peter of Milford, six grandchildren who were the love of his life, Robert Carbone, Jr. and his wife Chelsey, Matthew Kubik, Michael Carbone, Jr., Stephen Kubik, Krysta Kubik and Paris Carbone, a sister Carol Carbone Loschiavo and her husband Anthony of Fairfield, a special sister-in-law; Barbara Giblin as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons; Robert M. Carbone and James R. Carbone. The family would like to thank the pastoral care, especially Deacon Tim, the nurses and staff at Lord Chamberlain, the 7th floor at St. Vincents Medical Center and CT Hospice for all the care and compassion given to Tony and his family. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October, 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
