Obituary of Doris Canner

Doris Larson Canner, age 83, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Charles Canner, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Born in Stamford on February 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Axel and Hannah Larson. She had been a long time resident of Trumbull, having also lived in Monroe, Huntington, Newport, RI and Alton, NH. She was an administrative secretary for the Town of Trumbull, Trumbull Board of Education, and Proctor & Gamble. Her love for writing childrens stories led to one of her stories being published in the Chicken Soup Series. That story is currently being used in a national testing program. In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her three sons, Dr. Gary Canner of Wyomissing, PA, Attorney Glen Canner of Greenwich, and Wayne Canner of Windemere, FL, five grandchildren, Charles, James, Mark, John and Emily; a brother, Paul Larson of Greenwich; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Nichols United Methodist Church, 35 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
