Obituary of Arnaldo R. Camara

Resident of Trumbull Arnaldo R. (Arnie) Camara, age 73, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Mecia Jardim Camara, died peacefully on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Born on December 3, 1939 in Penha, Sao Paulo, Brazil, he was a son of the late Joao Camara and Julia Ascencao Fernandes Camara. Arnaldo retired from Warnaco as Vice President of Customer Service after 37 years of dedicated service. A hardworking man, he enjoyed the many projects that he completed over the years, whether it was carpentry or plumbing, there was no project that he couldn't do. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was an avid soccer fan who enjoyed watching the Brazilian National Team but also his hometown team, Corinthians. But above all, he cherished the time spent with his family. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, who took great pride in his family. His strong family values and hardworking ethic will continue to live on through his family, especially his cherished grandson, Jared, who he viewed not only as a grandson, but as a son as well. Arnaldo had a spice for life and enjoyed a good laugh with family and friends. He loved to travel and enjoyed the time he would spend tending to his garden at home. He will be truly and deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. In addition to his loving and dedicated wife of 48 years, Mecia, survivors include three cherished daughters, Irene Camara of Bridgeport, Diane Camara of Trumbull and Kathy Camara of Bridgeport, his adored grandson Jared Smith of Trumbull; a brother, Armando Camara and his wife Celina of Shelton, two sisters, Terezinha DaCosta and her husband Jose and Irene Andre and her husband Manuel, all of Trumbull. He also leaves to cherish his memory several brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the caring staff at St. Vincents Medical Centers Cardiovascular Unit and MICU for the care they gave Arnaldo. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Road, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Friends may call Monday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Donations Information At Arnaldos request, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to an education fund to benefit his grandson through the funeral director.
