Obituary of Richard J. Volpe

Richard J. Volpe, age 94, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Domenica Brunetto Volpe, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Golden Hill Health Care of Milford. Born in Bridgeport on January 22, 1918, he was a son of the late Joseph and Carmela Magno Volpe. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service and formerly employed by the Singer Corp. for over 33 years. Survivors include two sons, Richard Volpe II and his wife Cynthia of Southbury and Kevin Volpe of Stamford, a daughter, Janet Hinchey and her husband Stephen of Orange, a sister, Eleanor Gaboury of VA, four grandchildren, Richard Volpe III, Ashley Volpe, Jenna and Chelsea Hinchey as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Thomas Volpe. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in Kings Highway Cemetery, 223 Cherry St., Milford at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012 for graveside committal services. At Richards request, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Milford Senior Center, 9 Jepson Dr., Milford, CT 06460.
