Obituary of Joseph A. Vittorio

U.S. Army Veteran Joseph A. Vittorio, age 88, of Wallingford, husband of the late Maryann Cennamo Vittorio passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at his residence. Born in Bridgeport on January 17, 1924, he was a son of the late Ralph A. Sr. and Concetta Maruzzo Vittorio. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a personal chauffeur in France and Germany and drove General George S. Patton. He was proud to have been a Purple Heart recipient and also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Vittorio was a senior executive chauffeur for Warnaco for 23 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree. Survivors include two sons, Ralph A. Vittorio and his wife Maryann of Norwalk and Albert J. Vittorio and his wife Annmarie of Wallingford, five grandchildren, Lisa, Joseph, Allyssa, Michele and Albert Jr., five great grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler, Cody, Milani and Talin, a brother, Ralph Vittorio and his wife Claire of Shelton, brothers and sisters-in-law, Helen Vittorio of Stratford, Dorothy Cennamo, Al Cennamo, Anthony Staltari and Frank Cennamo, all of Bridgeport, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Jean V. Staltari, a brother, Benedetto Vittorio, brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack Cennamo and his wife Frances, Ralph Cennamo, Rose Kane and Dotty Cennamo. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
