Obituary of Angelo Nicholas Verdisco

Angelo Nicholas Verdisco, 83, of Bridgeport passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Norma Theresa Frillici Verdisco. Born in Bridgeport, on July 10, 1929, he was a son of the late Domenico Verdisco and Maria Ciambriello Verdisco. A US Army Veteran of the Korean War, he had served from 1951 until 1953 in Augsburg, Germany. Angelo had worked as a Quality Control Manager for the former Raybestos-Manhattan Company and later Raymark Industries before his retirement with many years of dedicated service. A long time parishioner of St. Patricks Church of Bridgeport, he was also proud to have been a 4th Degree Member of the Msgr. Murphy Knights of Columbus. He was a wine connoisseur and found great enjoyment traveling extensively throughout Europe with his late wife, Norma. He was also a competition marksmen but his greatest pleasure was found in the time he had spent with his cherished granddaughters. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his son, Michael Angelo Verdisco and his wife Donna Mello Verdisco of Bridgeport, his beloved granddaughters, Isabella Sophia and Alexandra Olivia Verdisco and a devoted chocolate English Labrador Retriever, Duke. He was predeceased by his brother, Frank Verdisco and his sister, Katherine Downey. He is also survived by his brother Patsy Verdisco of Trumbull and his sister Ann Varrone of Shelton. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 9:30 am at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:30 am at St. Patrick Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
