Obituary of Raphael A. Traggianese

Lifelong Bridgeport Resident Raphael (Ray) A. Traggianese Sr., age 91, of Bridgeport, the beloved husband of the late Helen Klicin Traggianese, died peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday May 17, 2012. Born in Bridgeport on March 6, 1921, he was a son of the late Carmine and Maria Costanzo Traggianese. For many years, he proudly worked along with his brothers at Traggianese Brothers Construction Company. He retired as Deputy Director of the Department of Public Works with the City of Bridgeport after serving from 1985 1989. Mr. Traggianese was a past president of the Holy Name Society of St. Andrew Church and also served as an usher for many years. Survivors include two sons, Raphael (Ray) A. Traggianese Jr. and his wife Mary of Easton, John Traggianese and his wife Amy of Easton, four daughters, Linda Krilivsky and her husband Paul of Trumbull, Patricia Hayes and her husband Christy of Trumbull, Helena Clancy and her husband Thomas of Shelton, Christine Zarrilli and her husband Steven of Stamford, three brothers, his twin Robert Traggianese and his wife Rose of Bridgeport, Anthony Traggianese of Shelton and Carmine Traggianese of Bridgeport, three sisters, Shirley Kostecki, Susan Cecchini and Helene Traggianese all of Bridgeport, thirteen grandchildren, Jessica Krilivsky, Brendan Hayes his wife Carrie and her daughter Brianna, Christy Hayes, Jr., Jack Hayes, Matthew Traggianese, Drew Traggianese, Emma Traggianese, Brett Clancy, Ryan Clancy, James Traggianese, Frankie Traggianese, Nicholas Zarrilli and Jason Zarrilli, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Grillo and Teresa Soule. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday May 23, 2012 at 9:00 a.m in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and a 10:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
