Obituary of Salvatore A. Tomasiello

Salvatore A. Tomasiello, age 81, of Stratford, beloved husband of Judith Szucs Tomasiello, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on November 14, 1931, he was a son of the late Louis and Biagina Liacone Tomasiello. A decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was aboard the first ship diverted to Korea without military supplies. A retired manager for Hartley and Parker with 26 years of dedicated service, he was also formerly employed by Matty Vetro Liquor Stores. In addition to his wife Judy of 54 years, survivors include a daughter, Lisa Tomasiello of Stratford, three grandchildren, Danielle Tomasiello, Stephanie Brooks and Daniel J. Brooks, III, a brother, Louis Tomasiello of Del Ray Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Kay Tomaselli of FL; nieces and nephews, Kim Alvarado and her husband Ski, Laura Rabtor, Kelly Frechette and her husband Paul, Chrisie Nava, Joe Nava, Joseph Tomasiello, Louis Tomasiello, Tommy Melhouse and Mary Razzino. He was pre-deceased by his granddaughter, Cheyenne Lee Conder; two brothers, Joseph Tomaselli, and Carmen Tomasiello, two sisters, Marie Thornhill, and Ann Tomasiello-Merritt. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Masonic Care of Norwalk, especially Maribel. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family through the funeral director.
