Obituary of Theresa Singleton

Theresa Sciarappa Singleton, age 80, of Bridgeport passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of George R. Singleton, Sr. Born in Bridgeport on November 23, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Poppa Sciarappa. She had worked as a machine operator for the Hawie Manufacturing Company of Bridgeport before leaving to raise her family and later returned to work before finally retiring in the late 1970s. Theresa loved to travel and found great enjoyment on her trips to the casino. She was proud of her Italian heritage and loved her Sunday macaroni dinners she enjoyed with family and friends. She also was an avid bingo player that found much enjoyment completing word search puzzles. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her beloved husband of 58 years, George, other survivors include her children, George R. Singleton, Jr. and his wife Grace of Monroe, Georgette Dorn and her husband Steve of Bridgeport, and Roxanne Hawksley and her husband Stephen of Bridgeport, her three grandchildren, Charyla Clancey and her husband John, Ashley Singleton and Alexis Singleton, her great granddaughter, Briana Martinez and several nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Rocco, Anthony, and Leonard Sciarappa and her sister, Marie Aliberti. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 9:00 am at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:00 am at St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
