Obituary of Helen Silano

Helen Lanza Silano, age 93, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Angelo Silano, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Flumeri, Province of Avellino, Italy on January 6, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Angela Giacobbe Lanza. An employee of the Acme Shear Co. of Bridgeport for over 15 years, she enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing and working in her garden. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and looked forward to making her special peppers and sauce for her grandchildren on Sundays. Survivors include four sons, Anthony Silano and his wife Aurora of Oxford, John Silano, Pasquale Silano and his wife Francine and Peter Silano and his wife Marie, all of Bridgeport, brothers and sisters, Benito Lanza, Lucia Lanza, Littitia Perina and Columba Gianetta, all of Italy and Rosa Carbone of Norristown, PA, 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Augustines Cathedral, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 3-7 p.m.
