Obituary of Anthony D. Rummo

U.S. Army Air Force of World War II Anthony Rummo, age 95, of Bridgeport, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at his home. Born in Bridgeport on August 15, 1916 he was a son of the late Donato and Rosina DiStasio Rummo. Mr. Rummo was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force serving during World War II. He was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy High School and the University of Michigan where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He was an engineer with Fletcher Thomas before his retirement. Tony was an avid golfer, an amateur photographer who enjoyed taking family photos and a dedicated parishioner of St. Margaret Shrine. He was pre-deceased by a brother Leonard Rummo and two sisters Theresa Rovegno and Clara Rummo. Survivors include a brother-in-law Louis Rovegno of Oxford, sister-in-law Filomena Rummo of Orange, nieces and nephews, Donna Yasick and her husband Joe of Woodbridge, Barbara Harris and her husband Arthur of Oxford, Leonard Rummo and his wife Lucille of Stratford and Renae Rummo of East Haven, three great nieces, Kami and her husband Matthew, Gina and Nina as well as great great niece and nephew. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
