Obituary of Leonard Donato Rummo

Leonard Donato Rummo, 63, of Stratford, beloved husband of Lucille Esposito Rummo, died on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on July 31, 1949, he was the son of Filomena Rummo of Orange and the late Leonard Rummo. Mr. Rummo was a 1967 graduate of Kolbe Cathedral High School and later served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He received his Associates degree in law enforcement from Middlesex Community College. He began a distinguished 35 year police career as an officer in Baltimore City for 5+ years. He then faithfully served the Westport Police Department for 25 years with dedicated service and retired with the rank of Lieutenant. He was a member of the Round Town Cruisers and was most proud of his Lister Dragon that he built. In addition to his wife Lucille, survivors include his two loving daughters, Kami Bernier and her husband Matthew of West Haven and Gina Rummo and her fiance Marcos Diaz of Milford, two grandchildren, Matthew Donato Bernier and Katherine Grace Bernier as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and his favorite dog Capone. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
