US Army Veteran and Avid Sportsman Eugene Olcsvary, age 96, of Fairfield, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for 66 years of the late Elizabeth Csizmar Olcsvary, who passed away on February 28, 2007. Born in Nanticoke, PA on June 28, 1916, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary Olcsvary. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, Gene served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He had also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was employed by the Model Tool Company, formerly of Bridgeport as a mold maker. An avid sportsman, he found great enjoyment in hunting, fishing and passing out fishing lures to children he met. Survivors include a daughter, Eugenie Skapczynski and her husband Ronald of Fairfield, grandchildren, James E. Bagoly, Robert A. Bagoly and Cathy L. Bagoly, a great granddaughter, Shannon A. Bagoly and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Emery Olcsvary, Frank Oliver and William Olcsvary. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
