Obituary of Mildred C. Nolan

Resident of Monroe Mildred C. Matera Nolan, age 88 of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Harold C. Nolan, Sr., died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Born in Bridgeport on September 19, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Peter J. and Catherine Perelli Matera. Mrs. Nolan worked as a secretary at Sikorsky Aircraft. Following her retirement in 1987, her desire to be around people and children led her to a second career as a hostess at McDonalds in Monroe. She is survived by her loving sons, Harold C. Nolan Jr. and his wife Carole of Shelton, Peter Nolan and his wife Kathleen of Shelton, and Kevin Nolan and his wife Michelle of MA; 10 cherished grandchildren, Melissa, Robert, Michael, Erin, Ashley, Brittany, Stacie, Tyler, Dante and Conrad; sister-in-law, Edna Matera of Stratford, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Robert Nolan and her brothers, Frank, Carmen and Robert Matera. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
