Obituary of Chiến Hữu Vũ

Chiến Hữu Vũ, age 65, passed away on August 11, 2026 in Bridgeport, CT. Chien was born on June 19, 1961 in Thủ Đức District, formerly Gia Định, Việt Nam to the late Văn Chu Vũ and Tứ Thị Phan. Following the Vietnam War, he spent a few years at a refugee camp in Thailand before immigrating to America on August 3, 1984. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a degree in electrical engineering while working and supporting his family. He was at ASML for 26 years and concluded his career as a Senior Proto Engineer.

He enjoyed his time by hanging out with his family and friends; experimenting in the kitchen; learning new things; fixing anything and everything he could; and being involved in the Vietnamese Parish at St. Augustine.

He is survived by his wife, Cẩm Vân Thị Nguyễn; daughters, Cynthia Nguyễn Vũ and Crystal Yến Vũ; siblings, Tuyết Thị Vũ, Minh Tâm Thị Vũ, Công Hữu Vũ and his wife Thành Thị Lê, Chánh Hữu Vũ and his wife Vân Thúy Dương, Thu Thảo Thị Vũ, Trang Thùy Vũ and her husband Tuấn Minh Quách, Chỉnh Hữu Vũ and his wife, Thiên Hương Thị Nguyễn, and Châu Hữu Vũ and his wife Trâm Ngọc Phạm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Augustine’s Cathedral, 359 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will be private. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
