Mass of Christian Burial
Obituary of Brian K. Jones Sr.
Brian Kenneth Jones, 80, of Trumbull, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 27th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Brian was a man of extraordinary warmth and kindness; anyone who met him loved him instantly. Family and faith were the twin pillars of his life. He was the deeply cherished husband of his beloved wife of 58 years, Bunnie. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love, laughter, and devotion. Brian was an exceptionally proud and loving father to his children, Brian and Jennifer (and her husband, Matthew). He was a doting grandfather to his treasured grandchildren, Connor, Sheila, Sarah, and Olivia, all of whom brought endless joy to his heart. He is survived by his loving sister, Jacqueline Sikorski. He also leaves behind his sweet dog and faithful companion, Dottie, who brought him immense comfort and happiness.
Some of Brian's most cherished family memories were made during their trips to Disney World, where he loved creating magical moments with those he held dearest.
A man of profound Catholic devotion, Brian took great joy in sharing his faith. For many years, he proudly led Pre-Cana marriage preparation classes, guiding countless young couples as they prepared to build faith-centered marriages. His favorite weekly routine was attending Mass every Saturday evening at St. Stephen's Church, where he felt deeply connected to God and his parish community.
Beyond his spiritual life, Brian was a dedicated public servant. He gave his time and expertise generously to his neighbors, proudly serving as a trusted member of the Town of Oxford Board of Finance to help guide the community he loved. Professionally, following a 30-year career at Avco and time at Lycoming, he achieved his lifelong dream of working at Sikorsky Aircraft. He served more than fifteen years in configuration management with the same exceptional work ethic that marked every stage of his professional life.
Brian embraced life with a joyful, youthful spirit. He was a lifelong, die-hard fan of the New York Mets and spent decades enjoying the nostalgic hobby of collecting baseball cards—a passion he loved sharing with others.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Griffith Jones and Asenath Jones, and his beloved sister, Diane Jones. His legacy of faith, civic duty, and unwavering love for his family will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, your work here is done!
