Obituary of John E. Jacobs

John E. Jacobs, age 88, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Monique (Mauritz) Jacobs. Born in Bridgeport on June 14, 1938, he was the son of the late Edward and Constance (Beaudin) Jacobs and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.

John was a graduate of Fairfield Prep and upon completion of his undergraduate studies he went on to receive his Masters at the University of Bridgeport. He joined the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Throughout his four years of service, he traveled the world and loved the time he spent stationed in France and Germany and was discharged in 1967, as a Captain. John had a long and fruitful career in human resources in several healthcare facilities including Park City Hospital, Winsted Memorial Hospital and Home Care Plus before retiring. He was passionate about feeding the homeless and instrumental in the success of Hidden Treasures Within, an organization that feeds the homeless in Bridgeport.

Above all his accomplishments, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, and he always spoke proudly of his children and grandchildren. Some of his fondest memories were summer vacations in Saratoga Springs at the racetrack, evenings on Arthur Ave at his favorite Italian restaurants, and Sundays spent at his friend's gallery in Westport. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His quick wit, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family leave behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.

In addition to his beloved wife Monique of 39 years, survivors include his loving daughter, Meghan Jacobs, two sons, James Jacobs and Robert Jacobs and his wife Richelle, a sister, Janet Jacobs and five cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Weylent, Gracie, Sam and Josie.

Friends can greet the family members at a memorial gathering that will take place on Friday, July 17th from 12pm to 4pm at Brownson Country Club – 15 Soundview Ave Shelton, Ct 06484
