Obituary of Thomas Iassogna Jr.

Thomas Iassogna, Jr., age 96, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Cathleen Case Iassogna, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport, on January 5, 1930, he was a son of the late Thomas Sr., and Stella Luparella Iassogna and was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. As a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, Thomas served his country with pride and honor and was awarded two Purple Hearts. He was the recipient of a Quilt of Valor from Port 5 in Bridgeport, CT. Thomas retired as a long-term employee of Bergen Brunswig. Thomas enjoyed researching and tracing his family's genealogy, enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles and was an avid fan of UCONN Women's basketball. But above all, he treasured the time he spent with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. The values he taught and unconditional love he gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his three loving daughters, Linda Nemergut and her husband Robert, Mary Taylor and her husband Steve and Cathleen Pallone and her husband Frank, six cherished grandchildren, Melissa Taylor, Nikki Taylor, Adam Nemergut, Matthew Nemergut, Jessie Lagasse and Jenna Geremia, a great granddaughter, Cassidy Uva, two great great grandchildren, Nico Thomas Uva and Jackson Uva, as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 4-7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
