Obituary of Ottilie Barbara Butz

Ottilie Meislitzer Butz, 84, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026. Born in Austria on December 3, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Johann and Maria (Mente) Meislitzer, Ottilie lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends. One of 11 children, Ottilie grew up surrounded by family and remained deeply connected to those she loved throughout her life. She is survived by four of her siblings, along with many extended family members who cherished her dearly. She was someone who truly lit up every room she entered with her warmth and caring spirit. Ottilie was a hard worker throughout her life and was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a deeply selfless person who always put others before herself, offering love, support and comfort to those around her.  She will be remembered not only for what she did, but for the way she made people feel—welcomed, cared for, and loved. Her memory and the love she shared will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

Ottilie is survived by her children: Howard Wardlow and his wife Kim, George Butz, John Butz and his wife Janet, and Cheryl Butz. She also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren, Brendan, Caitlin, Justin, Jonathan and Jacob along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

Friends can greet the family members at a memorial gathering on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
