Obituary of Anita M. Schumacher

Anita M. Schumacher (Imerito), age 95, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold L. Schumacher. Born in Union City, NJ on August 14, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Dante and Margaret Imerito (Brenan). Anita was a woman of great faith and she practiced that faith by praying the rosary daily and as a longtime parishioner of Christ the King Church in Trumbull, where she built many friendships over the years. She was selfless in her relationships with others, always giving to those in need. She loved spending time on Jersey shore, frequently visiting Long Beach Island during the summer and fall seasons. She enjoyed traveling to Maine and Florida, which always provided fond memories. Her greatest enjoyment however was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family. Anita always looked forward to hosting holiday gatherings, especially Christmas Eve, and the days and time spent with her grandchildren, whom she cherished. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving children, Joanne Schumacher, Steven Schumacher and his wife Karen, Richard Schumacher and his wife Caroline, her adored grandchildren, Megan Schumacher and her husband Blake Novi, James Schumacher, as well as several nieces, nephews and their children. In addition to her beloved husband Harold, she was also predeceased by her dear sisters, Margaret Deutch Shafron, Audrey Orth, and her brother, Howard Imerito.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
