Obituary of Maureen A. McNamara

Maureen A. McNamara, age 66, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Bridgeport Hospital with her family at her side. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late John and Eleanor (Logan) McNamara and was a longtime resident of northeast Philadelphia before coming to live in Trumbull.

Survivors include her two loving children, Michael J. O’Connell and Kelly O'Connell Shay and her husband Wesley, two cherished granddaughters, Colette & Sophie and a sister, Eileen Kenny. She was predeceased by sister, Mary Ellen Hannigan, brother-in-law Pat Hannigan, brother Gary McNamara and a brother-in-law, Ron Kenny.

 A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main St. Trumbull, CT, with a luncheon to follow. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service and burial will take place in Philadelphia at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (3301 W Cheltenham Ave) with a luncheon to follow on Friday, June 12.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Friends of the Trumbull library to honor Maureen's love of books and reading
