Obituary of Gail P. Barr

Gail P. Barr, age 88 of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on November 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Loretta (Adiletta) Barr. Mrs. Barr first began her working career at Remington and then Sonitrol for a time before eventually working as a receptionist for various nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the area. She dedicated many years of service in this capacity at Middlebrook Farms in Trumbull, where she built many friendships along the way.

Gail enjoyed working with ceramics in her spare time and had a knack for completing crossword puzzles. She loved to cook and was renowned for her Italian meatballs that were always a family favorite. She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, particularly Patrick Mahomes and looked forward to watching them play on Sundays during football season. Gail's greatest enjoyment however was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored above all else. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her loving children, Gale Marie Mayeran and her husband William and Lawrence Pellegrino and his wife Rhonda, both of Stratford, her cherished grandchildren, Jessica Pellegrino of Cheshire, Erika Hollman and her husband Toby of Beacon Falls, Michelle Schwanhauser and her husband Jesse of CA, Hurley Wayne Vanderpool and his wife Amy of CA and Rene Waterman and her husband Teddy of FL, her brothers, Fred "Butch" Barr and his wife Nancy of AZ and Dennis Barr of FL, her adored great grandchildren, Charlotte and Delilah Hollman, as well as many more great grandchildren that live out of state.

Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
