Obituary of Marie A. Faustine

Marie A. (Giannini) Faustine of Stratford passed away peacefully on her 97th birthday on April 8, 2026. Born in Bridgeport on April 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude Rich Giannini. Marie was employed as the Clerk of the Bridgeport Probate Court under Judge Flanagan for many years until her retirement. She continued to work after retirement as a Paralegal for Salvatore DePiano as well as many other attorneys throughout the area. Marie loved to travel and enjoyed her time with her family and friends. She and Peter enjoyed bowling in a senior league for many years as well.

She is survived by her special nephew and godson, Joseph Young and his wife Lisa, her niece Diane Young Mercado and her husband Robert, her cousin Sister Marie Verrilli as well as her great nephew and godson, Joseph Mercado (Sarah), her great niece Kiely Treschitta (Kenny), her great nephew Danniel Mercado (Rachel) and her great, great niece and nephews, Meelo Mercado, Noah Treschitta and Natalie Treschitta. She was also survived by two stepdaughters, Judy and Cathy Faustine. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter Faustine whom she married at the age of 60 and was able to celebrate 30 years of marriage with as well as her brother John Giannini and sister Beatrice Young.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.

Friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
