Obituary of Lois A. Jones

Lois A. Jones, age 100, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Lois was born in Bridgeton, NJ on February 26, 1926 to the late Mary and Emmett Palmer.

Lois grew up in Yeadon, PA, and after graduating high school, worked for a large CPA firm in Philadelphia, where she met her beloved husband Paul, who passed away in 1999. Lois and Paul had celebrated 50 years of a loving marriage in Bermuda with their family, while also through the years enjoying life by traveling with friends, bowling, golfing and staying active in their church.

Lois loved to stay busy and while living in Norwalk for 30 years, was active in the Women's Club, a bowling league, and was the first president of the Oak Hills Ladies Golf Association in Norwalk, where she played weekly with the ladies. Over the years she recorded 3 Holes in One on the Oak Hills Course. After moving to Trumbull in 1994, she became very active in the Tashua Knolls 18 Hole Women's Golf Association. She took on the job as the Sunshine Lady, which entailed delivering flowers to members that were sick or had lost loved ones, along with sending cards. She loved that job, and always made sure she had plenty of cards at home so the perfect one could be selected for the occasion. At the age of 93, Lois made her 4th hole in one at the Tashua Glen Golf Course.

She was also very active in the Nichols United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Nichols United Methodist Women, and choir.

She is survived by her loving children, Linda Fahey of Rowayton and Carol and her husband Stuart Ross of Weston. Lois had many dear friends and will be deeply missed.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. directly in Nichols United Methodist Church, 35 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. Burial will be private and at Lois's request, there will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nichols United Methodist Women (NUMW), 35 Shelton Rd., Trumbull, CT 06611.
