Celebration of Life
Obituary of Marlene R. Laskowski
Marlene Rae Laskowski, age 90, went home on March 18, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Raymond and Madeline Guard, and wife of Edward Laskowski for 69 years. Survivors include her two loving daughters, Deb and husband Glen Somogie, and Donna Cahill. She was "Gram" to her three cherished grandchildren, Glen Somogie, Jr, Amanda and Derek Delahunt, and Sean and Maribel Cahill.
Marlene was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on February 9, 1936. She was a legal secretary for many years and attended Sacred Heart University. But her most important and fulfilling job was that of wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Marlene will be most remembered for her quick wit and warmth. It did not take long to get a good laugh or a loving hug when you were with her. She loved to cook and always made you feel like you were home. Marlene was funny, strong and independent. She loved to drive anywhere, but usually found herself with our dad at their lake house in New Hampshire or making a "donation" at the casino. While her passing leaves us incredibly sad, we are happy that she is free from all the things that limited the fun-filled life she once had and longed for. We are happy that she is now together again with the love of her life and other loved ones that have gone before her. She is now and forever, "comfy cozy."
Marlene leaves behind her loving sister, Sharon (Jack) Kostyan, brother-in-law, Ted Laskowski, and sister-in-law Ellen Laskowski. She is predeceased by her parents, her brother Raymond (Cheryl) Guard, sisters Shirley (Tony) Passaro, Eileen (John) Podrasky, brother-in-law, Raymond Laskowski, and sister-in-law Elaine Laskowski. She also leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. A special thank you to Margaret for her loving care and friendship.
