Obituary of Frederick E. Giannini

Frederick E. Giannini, age 80, of Bridgeport, a retired employee of the City of Bridgeport, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on January 24, 1946, he was the son of the late Edwin and Lucy Cuccaro Giannini, and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Fred was an avid concert-goer and passionate fan of New York sports teams, especially his beloved Yankees. He was revered by friends and family for his sharp wit and his encyclopedic recall of little-known music and sports lore.

Survivors include two loving sisters, Lucille DeMarco and Edwinna Spagnola, special cousin, Mary Lou Cuccaro, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 18th, at 11 a.m. directly in St. Margaret Shrine Chapel, 2539 Park Avenue, Bridgeport and inurnment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, Stratford.
